Joint Program Dedicated to Worthy Causes

NAMS Project For The Greater Good?
Not sure where to pose this question, and searched the forum for a while before deciding to post here.
With all of the brilliance and action that is going to be happening in one short week at NAMS, I was wondering if there was a way we could jointly develop an affiliate promotion that would be dedicated to a current, worthy cause, e.g. provide relief funds for Haiti? There is such an amazing power and synergy in such a group gathering as the one we will be experiencing, that I thought it might be worth our collective thought and energy to design a project that could be of immediate benefit to people in desperate need. I am a definite newcomer in terms of experience in building a profitable site, but I do have zeal and passion (and four days without children!) to give to the cause, and I think it would create an amazing dynamic for us all.
Something like this may already be in the works, as this is my first time at NAMS. I just know, based on my online due diligence, that this gathering presents an astonishing array of compassionate, intelligent and diligent individuals. And, as Margaret Mead has said, it is just such small groups of likeminded, intelligent people who are the only ones who have ever changed the world...I would love to hear your thoughts!

Another idea would be to post affiliate programs or others that have announced intentions to donate to Haiti or other causes. For example, Nicole Dean will be donating to a Haiti fund for affiliates who reach a certain level of sales. LocalEats is donating proceeds of their iPhone App to Red Cross Haiti fund for a couple of months.

i am exploring the same idea ;-)

    Hi,

I've been thinking about and exploring the idea of using what i learned and (am still learning!) from NAMS to fund/assist non-profit causes and movements too! The power of affiliate marketing appears phenomenal!

My learning curve is very steep though, given that i just discovered this ;-).

I am also very inspired by what Dr Mani is doing with his heart surgery work with children, and know that his is the example i'm looking to learn from and emulate :-).

    Let's keep this conversation going!

I've been talking to Dr. Mani about becoming the Official NAMS cause. We raised more than $1300 at NAMS3. That fully funds one child's heart surgery who would not have had one otherwise. The folks at NAMS saved his or her life. It doesn't get much more direct or profound than that!

David, first a public (and huge) "Thank you" for what you and other NAMS attendees did! You've kicked-off my 2010 fundraising with a bang - and I'm sure the energy and excitement from this will carry me ahead with more enthusiasm.

I posted parts of this note on Willie's TIMIC forum, and will share it here too.

"Business with Purpose" has always been powerful, as a concept. And in my own work, I've experienced its real impact as what I do online grew and gained momentum over the last 14 years.

On my request, Mark Joyner wrote a very special document way back in 2004 or so, called "The Positive Promise" - and while a casual reader may see it as airy-fairy theory, anyone who has experienced the force of making and keeping a 'Positive Promise' will know it ain't so.

That's what collectively happened at NAMS.

You can read Mark's very interesting report here:

    http://www.PositivePromise.com/intro.htm

I've promised to send David a longer message soon outlining some plans and ideas, so we can take what has been started here and grow it into something bigger, better and even more magical.

Like "47 Hearts" - www.47hearts.com - shares... let's make an "impossible" dream come true!

Thanks, David - for NAMS - and everyone involved.

    All success
    Dr.Mani

P.S. - Oh, there's absolutely no reason to stick with one "official" program. There are so many ways to make an impact and a difference in the world, and one or more of them may be close to YOUR heart.

If it is, if you're passionate enough about it, and are moved enough to want to make a change, then make that your dream... and go after it, starting TODAY.

No, don't wait "until later", or when "I have enough to give", or "when I'm more settled", or "once I make sure it's feasible"... NO.

    Think. Decide. And start.

There's a power and magic in purposive action that will surprisingly bring the right people into your universe, miraculously engender support and resources, and power your dream forward.

None of this will happen if you just keep on wishing, hoping and waiting.

Just my sincere attempt to push some readers who've been sitting on the fence about doing this! :-)

    All success

Can't agree more, Dr Mani ;-)

    Hi everyone!

First, David, i think your idea of adopting Dr Mani's cause as the official NAMS one is the "AWESOMEST" ever!

Dr Mani, i totally get what you said about going out there and doing something instead of sitting on the fence. Personally, i was moved to support a charity in Africa for AIDS Orphans when i met its founder at an international coaches' conference. She called me from New Zealand this past Sunday to thank me, and said exactly what you said: that many people she meets say that they will send her charity things, but never do...

For me, life is short... And i so want to be totally "used up" when my time on earth is up... and for now, it means being a coach and supporting charities and non-profits...

Once again, THANK YOU for showing us the way -- of using Internet Marketing to support your cause. You can't believe how much that means to me to have finally found a way that i know deep down, would work.

    Warmly,
    Duanna

    Let's start a Non-profit/Social Entrepreneurship SIG

    Hi y'all!

It's been over a month since NAMS and i'm still jazzed up with possibilities! Thank you, so very much, for organizing NAMS, David!

i have been thinking about this idea for a while now: i would like to suggest starting a Non-profit / Social Entrepreneurship Special Interest Group within NAMS, if that's alright with David :-).

Over the past year, non-profits have really suffered in their fundraising using traditional methods. i would like to explore assisting them with fundraising over the Internet. If Obama could raise over $500 MILLION over the Internet, surely non-profits have a fighting chance!

i am looking to attract folks like you who are web masters, Internet experts, JV stars, Super Affiliates, brilliant copywriters, marketing gurus, to join me in this cause.

If you are willing to "play" full out, email me at coachduanna@gmail.com ! This is an INSPIRED EXPLORATION -- join us if you are willing to "play" with ideas in an unattached manner with other team members who want to make a beautiful difference in the world :-).

Can't wait to hear from you,
    Duanna

I can add a group project to this forum if you'd like to explore that way and put a group together. NAMS (as an entity) will be supporting Dr. Mani's efforts. If we could create a group on that, I'd love it. But I would also support whatever you come up with as well.

    Great discussion and thoughts here.
