Ya know what? NAMS needs a logo. I know that seems trite, but from a branding perspective, banner ad perspective, and t-shirt perspective - uniformity would be good. So I would propose an extension to the t-shirt idea deadline in search of a logo (though David's probably got a guy on elance working on the scope of work to come up with a logo after which another elance dude will bid on the logo design itself - so this might be moot).

Check out the logo of our local barcampnashville.com event. It's just cool and makes for a cool shirt design. Anyway, just a thought.

Hey - I had this idea for t-shirt. What do you think?

I'm with AllenDresser - I like the idea of a golf shirt than add the Dan Morris idea of logo. Buy 'em so you can sell 'em for $15 a pop and then add them into the price of the registration in future years.

I don't know exactly how they do it but my trade association (the MD Ass'n of Realtors) comes up with a new logo for their annual conference every year. I've heard Logo Tournament does a pretty nice job for pretty cheap (for logo design, that is).

Of course, another challenge is getting all the right sizes

    Ken -

I thought this was a really good idea, so I've started a logo design contest at the Logo Tournament - click here to follow it for the next 7 days.

It looks like a good description [on Logo Tournament] of what you're after. It's also interesting to see the demographic make-up of the NAMS community.

Oooh. . . . another contest! I can't just sit idly by. . . I've posted my NAMS Logo "unofficial entry" on my blog: http://lettersfromdan.com/namslogo

I would have posted an official logo, but that Logo Tournament site is for professionals - of which I am definitely not. So unofficial it is.

There are 30 designs at the logo tournament site - while Dan's is really good, I'd like to hear your opinions about the other ones as well.

Some of these are really good

I clicked on Dan's link but there wasn't anything there. So.....since you asked:

    #15
    #3
    #24

I saw your comment about wanting to incorporate the NAMS number into the logo but the four that I saw that had the number incorporated into it didn't do anything for me. The challenge is that since there are four letters, the number makes it look like the logo for a TV station or a newscast ("Video at 11:00 only on NAMS 4")

    If #15, #11 and #14 changed the "N" icon into a 4, I think you'd have a winner.

I see you like different stuff. Which is cool. Just my $.02

I am definitely liking #75 (your second choice) - clean, recognizable, the 4 is prominent, colors are good.

#40 (your 10th choice) also appeals to me but not as much as #75.

    Lots of choices, huh?
